Last year, one of the best mixtapes I heard was from a skinny white dude from Manchester, England named Daley. Given the heads up from both SoulBounce and SoulTracks, I downloaded his free mixtape Those Who Wait, eager to hear what the fuss was about. When it was over, I was amazed by his voice, and the good songs on it. You can still get that mixtape if you want to check it out by going here. One of the highlights of the mixtape was a duet with Marsha Ambrosius, the “Songstress” from the original version of Floetry, and now a solo artist in her own right. That song was called “Alone Together,” and was one of the best songs I heard all last year. You can hear it here:

Couldn’t believe how good he sounds, and they sound together. Well, it’s a year later, and Daley is now signed to Polydor Records and is preparing to release his debut album. This week the first single was released, entitled “Remember Me,” featuring fellow Brit Jessie J on background vocals. Love the bassline on this track. Daley sounds great, and this is a track I’ll be listening to frequently. Take a listen for yourself.

I don’t know what they are doing over in the UK these days, but they are bringing out loads of talented singers. This is among one of the best out there. See for yourself, and drop a note in the comments.
